Email to SMS sending is fast and convenient and can be sent anywhere you have internet and email access:
To send SMS from email via GoFax, you will require:
- An online account with GoFax
- GoFax Send credits
- Your email address added as an ‘Allowed sender for SMS’ on your GoFax account
Next steps:
- Create a new email message in any email application/service, e.g. Outlook® or Gmail™
- In the "To" field, enter the mobile number followed by @sms.gofax.com.au
⚠️ Entries in the CC or BCC field will not be processed.
Eg Australian Mobile number: 0412345678@sms.gofax.com.au
To send SMS internationally, enter country code, mobile number, @sms.gofax.com.au.
Eg US Mobile Number: 12345556789@sms.gofax.com.au - Enter the SMS message text in the body of the email. You can also use the Subject Line to enter the content to be sent as SMS (this needs to be enabled, see General SMS Settings)
- Click "Send".
⚠️ When using the body of the email to send SMS, please ensure that email signatures and/or disclaimer content is removed prior to sending.
- A single SMS message is 160 characters, including spaces, or less. If your message is over 160 characters in length, each additional 153 characters or part thereof will be charged as an additional message. See SMS Character Limit.
- An optional feature is available to disable 'multi-part' SMS messages. View more details under General SMS Settings.
