Auto delete fax pages sent

By default, GoFax securely stores the page content of each fax sent. There is an optional feature called "Auto Delete Fax Pages". When activated, GoFax will delete the page content of all faxes sent immediately after confirmation of send success or failure of fax delivery. Activation of this setting varies based on the method you use for sending faxes. 

Activate "Auto Delete" for email to fax sending

  1. Log in to your GoFax secure web portal
  2. Go to the left main menu (Dashboard)
  3. Select "Send Fax Service", then "Manage Send Settings"
  4. Select "Allowed Senders for Fax Send"
  5. Either  "Add a new address"  and/or click "Edit" in the authorised sender’s line item
  6. Tick the "Auto Delete Fax Pages" box and
  7. Click "Save".

Please note: Deleting fax pages does not delete the sending record (meta data) for the fax from your account’s log. We are legally required to maintain a log of all faxes sent for a twelve-month period. Setting "Auto Delete Fax Pages" for email to fax sending will automatically delete all future fax page content sent from the configured authorised email sender after the auto delete function was set up. When "Auto Delete Fax Pages" is enabled, you cannot resend the fax using the "Resend" link as the document will be deleted after confirmation of send success or failure of fax delivery.

Activate "Auto Delete" for sending a fax online

  1. to your GoFax secure web portal
  2. Go to the left main menu (Dashboard)
  3. Select "Send Fax Service", then select "Send Faxes Online"
  4. Tick the "Delete document after fax sent" check box before sending each online fax.

Please note: Deleting fax pages does not delete the sending record (meta data) for the fax from your account’s log. We are legally required to maintain a log of all faxes sent for a twelve-month period. Using the "Send Fax Online" method requires you to tick "Delete document after fax sent" for each fax sent. 

Activate "Auto Delete" for sending fax via desktop software or API

  1. Log in to your GoFax secure web portal
  2. Go to the left main menu (Dashboard )
  3. Select "My Account", then "API Access"
  4. Either "Add API access token" or click "Edit" for existing API tokens
  5. Tick, "Delete Data" check box
  6. Click "Add Now"

Please note:  Deleting fax pages does not delete the sending record (meta data) for the fax from your account’s log. We are legally required to maintain a log of all faxes sent for a twelve-month period. 
Setting "Auto Delete Fax Pages" for Desktop Software or API fax sending will automatically delete all future fax page content sent from the API access token after the auto delete function was set up.
