Fax number porting checklist
Prior to submitting a fax number port order to GoFax, we recommend reviewing this checklist to reduce delays, potential disruption and/or the likelihood of your releasing carrier rejecting your fax port request.
Before you start
✅check number portability. Contact your current carrier to review your number type and configuration and portability to GoFax.
✅check for other services associated. Does the fax number share a physical line or have other associated services with its configurations? Consider your internet connection, EFTPOS, phone, or security system. Proceeding to port may impact the services associated. If you identify associated services:
-
ask your current carrier for options to dissociate (not disconnect) the fax number from the line/associated services.
- if you need the number active until completion, request a temporary redirection to your GoFax receive service number (your carrier may charge for redirection).
- if yes, its highly likely that a complex port (CAT C) is required. Complex (CAT C) porting fee applies.
NOTE: Please inform us of any CAT C port requirement when submitting your Port Authority Form to avoid any delays
- you may need to either dissociate the required number from the service or port all numbers in the service to GoFax (fees may apply for numbers you don’t need active).
Once reviewed, proceed to complete and return all pages of the GoFax Fax Number Porting Authority form to support@gofax.com.au or contact our team for assistance.
