Custom fax retention of sent fax files

GoFax provides standard, custom and auto-delete options for fax sending file retention.

By default as our standard fax retention period, GoFax securely stores the fax content (files/images) of each fax sent for 90 days. After 90 days, the fax file is automatically deleted.

If your business needs a longer or shorter retention period for sent fax content, this can be configured on your account. GoFax can provide options to configure: 

This applies to fax sending content only, not metadata such as send confirmations or logs.

How custom fax retention works: 

  • Retention of less than 90 days: No charge to configure or maintain.
  • Retention longer than 90 days: A custom quote will be provided based on your required retention period.
  • If Auto Delete is currently enabled on your account, it will need to be turned off before a custom retention period can take effect.
  • Custom retention periods can be configured on a specific account or for Corporate-grade accounts, for all Sub-accounts.  

How to request a custom retention period: 

  1. Contact GoFax Support.

    Confirm your desired retention period (in days) for sent faxes.

  3.  

    If you have a Corporate-grade account, please advise specific requirements. 

  4. We'll confirm once your custom retention period is active, or provide a quote first if your requested period is longer than 90 days.

 

Once activated, it is not a retroactive change, meaning it won't change the expiry date of all the previous faxes the client has sent. e.g. once set - all future faxes will have the custom retention period applied.
